David Wood

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wood has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He began his career constructing underground and aerial plant as well as managing construction crews. He worked splicing coax and fiber cables and was constructing at the inception of HFC architecture. He moved into design engineering and management positions, working for several contractors on projects for multiple MSO’s. He has worked on telecommunication projects on six continents for nearly every MSO on Earth. He worked hard and earned his way into upper management positions, where he increased company morale, training, quality, and increased production by 500% while operating as Director of Engineering in Manhattan. His outlook on business management differs from most. When dealing with employees, his belief is that a workplace with high morale is a productive and high quality workplace. When dealing with MSO’s, he believes in being truthful and not misleading clients, by telling them what they want to hear. He has extensive experience in HFC, EPON, GPON, DAS, FTTx, and Cell Tower engineering and construction. Mr. Wood brings expertise in all areas of field engineering, design engineering, permitting, and construction.

Matt Urso

Chief Logistics Officer

Mr. Urso brings an extensive telecommunications background with him to DTEC, INC. He has been working in the telecommunications industry for 18 years, starting his career with coaxial and copper infrastructure installation, then trouble shooting and repair. He managed projects for the NYC Board of Education on public school retrofit programs, and multiple commercial and retail projects. He has extensive knowledge in wired and Wi-Fi applications, wireless backhaul, as well as commercial telephony systems. He has been deeply involved with cell tower applications for multiple companies, designing and directing backhaul projects. Mr. Urso has an extensive background in GPON infrastructure and design. He has been deeply involved in FTTH, FHC, EPON, and GPON design and development for multiple MSO’s.

Jola Malaczek

Quality Control Director

Miss Malaczek has 8 years of management experience and is well versed in multiple design software platforms. She has worked with every aspect of HFC design as well as WI-FI design. Miss Malaczek has extensive experience in HFC, WI-FI, GPON, EPON, and FTTx design. Her experience in the telecommunications industry and management background, ensure that she is the perfect candidate to direct any project, be it HFC, GPON, wireless or wired design. Her extensive knowledge of multiple platforms enables her to be directly involved with all aspects of every project. Jola is an invaluable asset to DTEC, INC.

Trey Downey

Design Engineer

Mr. Downey is a design engineer with more than 14 years of experience. He began his career as a mechanical exhaust systems designer and designed hood systems for several national restaurant chains. Trey’s design work would include elaborate exhaust systems and fire suppression systems in major airports, Las Vegas casinos, and in standalone restaurant locations across America and overseas. During the remodel of Stanford Stadium in California, Trey designed the fire suppression systems for restaurants and concessions. His expertise in the field, led to him designing and overseeing the production of exhaust systems for Wendy’s international in Malaysia. After engineering exhaust systems, Trey shifted course from the engineering field to work in Architecture. He got the opportunity to design complete Architectural building plans for the largest healthcare provider in Georgia. Trey’s extensive knowledge of design, project management, sales, and permit design, has led to his success as a design engineer for DTEC.
